福島市出身の作曲家・指揮者・ピアニスト。地元・東京・ウィーン, シュトットガルト, ルートヴィックスブルク, フランクフルトで嶋津武仁、西村朗、松本紀久男、エスターライヒャ−, バーンスタイン, ユン, ラッヘンマン, リリング, クラウス・フーバー, シュトックハウゼン, ツェンダー, チェリビダッケらに学ぶ。作曲や指揮の国際コンクールや音楽賞・奨学金56回受賞を始め、1986年以降のＷＶＥ-番号だけでも267曲の自作のオリジナル作品、12曲の電子音楽、3曲のライブ・エレクトロニック作品，20曲の編曲作品、200曲を超える自作の編曲、200曲の即興曲の録音、また120曲を超えるオペラや700曲のコンサートのレパートリー等があり、世界各地で交響楽団やオペラ・現代音楽-アンサンブル-合唱・映画音楽等を指揮し、即興演奏、教会音楽、21枚のCDプロダクションや自己のオリジナル作品が演奏されている。
